Happy and Safe Memorial Day Weekend

We want to take a moment to remember the men and women who have served and are currently serving in the military this Memorial Day Weekend. We also want to wish everyone a Happy and Safe Memorial Day Weekend. We hope you all have fun kicking off the unofficial start of summer. Remember we are open all weekend including Monday so come by and enjoy the High School Art Show while you can.
Our Picasso Diva’s class is coming up on Thursday, May 28 from 6-8pm. Remember this class fills up fast, so please RSVP.
Our summer/fall hours are in effect, which means we are open Monday thru Saturday, 10am to 4:30pm and Sunday 1pm to 4pm.
Finally, we will be participating in the Heritage Day Festival sponsored by the Masonic Theatre on June 6. We will be set up on the Amphitheater grounds, with kids’ activities. At the Art Center we will host the Quilt and Needlework Show along with four bed-turning presentations. For those of you who are not quilters, collectors or just do not know the lingo like me an explanation of bed-turning is helpful. Bed-turning entails knowledgeable collectors, volunteers and quilters, who show and share the history of various quilts. If you are like me, you might still be wondering why it’s called bed-turning. On June 6, in addition to the Masonic Theatre Heritage Day Festival, the C&O Railroad museum will sponsor their C&O Railway Heritage Festival and Train Show at the C&O Railroad museum. There will be train rides on a miniature train, which is fun for all ages and will cost you $3.00, you can enter the museum for a donation which helps support their mission and activities, there will be a hobo performance by Biff Downey and there will be a variety of venders for railroad modelers and collectors in the Clifton Forge School of the Arts Mill.
