SUMMARY:BARN QUILT PAINTING CLASS
DESCRIPTION:Students (16+ years old) will create a barn quilt on a 2′ X 2′ board with a design of their choice. Pam will provide a board\, along with black and white paints. Students will need to bring paint colors and a pattern. Sample exterior semi-gloss or matte paints can be purchased from Ace Hardware\, Home Depot\, Sherwin Williams\, etc.. Also needed are 1″ angled brushes\, painters tape (yellow) and your pattern design. This class is on Tuesday\, June 24th & Wednesday\, June 25th from 10 am to 4 pm. SUMMARY:Mat Cutting Class #3-with Jeff Bartley
DESCRIPTION:Jeff Mat Cutting class #3 is on December 14th from 10 am to 2 pm. There will be a limit of only 3 students per class so register soon. Each student should bring a piece of art work and a frame (at least 2″ larger on each side than the art image)\, a sharp pencil and a working eraser\, and something to take notes on. Also\, bring a brown bag lunch.\nPlease register at least 48 hours before class.  The cost is $40 and includes a sheet of acid free mat board (white) and acid free foam core for backing. \nJeff\, a former teacher and a wonderful photographer\, has photographed every thing from the Panama Canal to penguins\, and thus has had need to cut many mats!

SUMMARY:BARN QUILT PAINTING CLASS
DESCRIPTION:This class will be held on November 15th – November 17th. Friday’s class is from 5pm – 9pm; Saturday’s & Sunday’s classes are from 1pm – 5pm.  The Instructor will provide the black & white paint\, and the board. Students need to bring a pattern they want to duplicate on their quilt\, along with the color paints needed (sample paints can by bought at Ace Hardware or Sherwin Williams)\, 1″ angled brushes\, and painters tape. The cost of the class is $110\, and at the end of the class you will have a finished Barn Quilt to hang outdoors! \nPam Hirt is an experienced Barn Quilt Painter\, winning awards for her quilts at the West Virginia State Fair.  Her love of creating Barn Quilts came about by her love of cross stitch.  Pam began charting her designs on grid paper which led her to the same process for her Barn Quilts.  This is a fun class\, so sign up soon! \nAny questions\, please call Cathy @ 540-968-1648.

DESCRIPTION:Jeff Mat Cutting class #2 is on October 26th from 10 am to 2 pm. There will be a limit of only 3 students per class so register soon. Each student should bring a piece of art work and a frame (at least 2″ larger on each side than the art image)\, a sharp pencil and a working eraser\, and something to take notes on. Also\, bring a brown bag lunch.\nPlease register at least 48 hours before class.  The cost is $40 and includes a sheet of acid free mat board (white) and acid free foam core for backing. \nJeff\, a former teacher and a wonderful photographer\, has photographed every thing from the Panama Canal to penguins\, and thus has had need to cut many mats! The Annual Fx2 Photo Show are coming soon\, so this is a very timely class!

Navroski began to be more passionate about choosing a medium with meaning.  He chose to paint on feathers.  Feather painting is a creative method to symbolize the powerful meaning of feathers which represents honor\, trust\, strength\, wisdom and freedom.  A unique one of a kind “art” that is deeply revered and a sign of high honor from the heavens.   Ronald has won numerous awards and his feathers are displayed in the Shop of Alleghany Highlands Arts and Crafts Center\, as well as other shops throughout Virginia. \n  \n  \n
