The children will read and discuss a story\, make their own craft pertaining to the story\, and often there is a snack! Inspired by images\, movement\, and stories from Founder & Artistic Director Shannon Hummel’s 1998 work Had You Been Here\, Cora Dance leads Stories in Movement Workshops at the Alleghany Highlands Arts & Crafts Center Gallery for all ages and abilities through exercises and games exploring how stillness and movement tell a story. Participants get an inside look into what goes into creating choreography in a joyful\, inclusive way and share their own original “story-dances” at the end of each workshop! Inspired by images\, movement\, and stories from Founder & Artistic Director Shannon Hummel’s 1998 work Had You Been Here\, Cora Dance leads Stories in Movement Workshops at the Alleghany Highlands Arts & Crafts Center Gallery for all ages and abilities through exercises and games exploring how stillness and movement tell a story. Participants get an inside look into what goes into creating choreography in a joyful\, inclusive way and share their own original “story-dances” at the end of each workshop!
