SUMMARY:Mat Cutting Class -with Jeff Bartley
DESCRIPTION:Jeff will hold several Mat Cutting classes.  The first one is on September 14th from 10 am to 2 pm. There will be a limit of only 3 students per class so register soon. Each student should bring a piece of art work and a frame (at least 2″ larger on each side than the art image)\, a sharp pencil and a working eraser\, and something to take notes on. Also\, bring a brown bag lunch.\nPlease register at least 48 hours before class.  The cost is $40 and includes a sheet of acid free mat board (white) and acid free foam core for backing. \nJeff\, a former teacher and a wonderful photographer\, has photographed every thing from the Panama Canal to penguins\, and thus has had need to cut many mats! The Annual Fall Festival and the Annual Fx2 Photo Show are coming soon\, so this is a very timely class!

DESCRIPTION:This class will be held during the Arts Community Celebration on September 20th at 7pm.\nNeed a Christmas Wreath? Learn to make your very own with Buddy Carter! Starting at 7pm during the ACC\, Buddy will show you how to assemble a wreath with various leaves and flowers. \nWhat you need to bring: \n-Your own wreath base \n-Any extra decorations you would like to add to your wreath \nTicket cost is $15. You are welcome to register by September 14th to ensure your spot\, however this class is open to those who choose to pay the day of. \nIf you want specific items (such as snowflakes\, a certain color of ribbon\, or anything other than greenery) please let us know ahead upon registration\, so that Buddy has time to gather those items. You can register by clicking “get tickets” at the bottom of the screen or by visiting the AHACC in person.

SUMMARY:PAINTING ON FEATHERS-RONALD NAVROSKI
DESCRIPTION:This class will be on September 28th beginning at 10 am.  The cost is $25 and open to students as young as 16 years old and to adults. There will be a maximum of 12 so be sure to register by September 25th. \nStudents will learn how to paint on feathers and will be taking home a feather painting  of a Snow Owl mounted in a cloche dome. All supplies will be provided. \nRonald Navroski is a self-taught artist who began his career in oil. Navroski began to be more passionate about choosing a medium with meaning.  He chose to paint on feathers.  Feather painting is a creative method to symbolize the powerful meaning of feathers which represents honor\, trust\, strength\, wisdom and freedom.  A unique one of a kind “art” that is deeply revered and a sign of high honor from the heavens.   Ronald has won numerous awards and his feathers are displayed in the Shop of Alleghany Highlands Arts and Crafts Center\, as well as other shops throughout Virginia.
