SUMMARY:Barn Quilt Painting with Pam Hirt
DESCRIPTION:Learn to paint your own Barn Quilt with Pam Hirt.  Pam began needlepoint & embroidery in middle school\, and later discovered cross stitch and fell in love!  Barn Quilts have become her new love\, and the gridding involved is much like that of cross stitch only on a much larger scale.  Rather than using traditional quilt patterns\, Pam designs her own Barn Quilts.  \nThis 3-day class will take place on Friday\, December 8th from 5pm to 9pm\, Saturday\, December 9th from 4pm to 8pm\, and Sunday\, December 10th from 1pm to 5pm. \nThere will be room for 8 students (16+) and Pam supplies a 2×2 plywood board. Participants are expected to bring at least one slanted 1″ paint brush\, painters tape\, and an idea of what design you’d like to paint. You also need no more than 6 paint colors\, we recommend getting samples at Lowes (do not get valspar). \nThe cost is $90 so register early.  Call to register: (540) 862-4447.

Students will glue velvet material to the frame and use the jewel pieces to create their very own framed tree. This tree will hopefully reflect a part of your personality\, by choosing gems that catch your eye. There are only 8 spaces available\, so purchase a ticket if you are interested! \nThis class will be on December 9th from 10:00am to 2:00pm  \nStudents are asked to bring their own frame. This frame can be 5×7\, 8×10\, or 9×12. Jewelry pieces are provided\, however\, you may bring your own if you have them.  \nAge Limit: 12 and over \nCost:$40.00 \n

It is evident in his works that Florida is his current home\, with heavy emphasis in vibrant color and striking imagery. “Whatever is unusual\, different\, or colorful often sets the spark for my creativity.”\nGertrude White has always been interested in some form of visual art. Her favorite medium is watercolor\, but she has also used oil\, acrylics\, colored pencil\, pen & ink\, pastels\, and mixed media on diverse surfaces including canvas\, watercolor paper\, Yupo\, Synthetic “plastic” paper\, and handmade paper. She loves to experiment and often incorporates different pieces of nature in her joy-filled work.
