Arts Community Celebration

Welcome to the Arts Community Celebration ART MARKET 2024.
This is the fifth year for this celebration of creative talent in downtown Clifton Forge, VA. As our ACC Celebration continues to change and grow, times, dates and some of the locations have shifted a bit to reflect customer feedback and those changes. Community excitement, participation and volunteer support continues to grow.
- Friday 3-7 pm required - exhibitors with lights may stay open until 9 pm.
(No generators allowed. We are working to secure a source for additional lighting for all, more information on this later so stay tuned.)
- Saturday, September 21, 10-5 pm.
ALL VENDORS ARE EXPECTED TO REMAIN FOR THE LENGTH OF THE FESTIVAL. THOSE WHO FAIL TO DO SO WILL NOT BE ASKED BACK.
- PLACE: The Artist Market will be on Church Street.
- ENTRY FEE: $50.00 for 10x10 foot space.
- ALL ARTISTS MUST BE 18 YEARS OF AGE.
- ELIGIBLE WORK: This is a show for artists and crafters. All work must be original, imaginative, creative, and produced by the exhibitor. NO KITS. Media may include: Painting (oil, watercolor, acrylic), drawings, mixed media, collage (majority of the work must be artist-made, not just clip art), sculpture, pottery, wood (including hand-carved walking sticks), leather, jewelry, weaving, metal, leaded glass, photography, or fiber crafts (stitched, handmade baskets, hand done tie-dye). Artist-made prints include woodcuts, linoleum blocks, etchings, drypoint, intaglio, or silkscreens and may be labeled as print but must carry the edition numbers. Reprint/reproductions (including stickers, postcards & notecards) should be labeled as such and should occupy no more than 10% of the applicant’s booth space. No giclees or color copies. Artists should be able to explain their processes to visitors. Artists displaying work different from the types shown in the pictures will be asked to leave without a refund. Artists violating the rules of this event/festival will become ineligible for readmission to future festivals by the ACC. A Committee of peers will jury all applications.
- UNACCEPTABLE WORK: No agents, food vendors, no buy/sale item. This is a show for artists and crafters, not commercialism or dealers; we are interested in displaying a range of media. No buy/sale in any No gourmet foods, dealers, manufactured items, or kits other than those produced by the exhibitor. Bazaar crafts, such as crocheting, knitting, decoupage, or non-craft-wearing apparel will not be accepted. This is a family-oriented show. Please keep this in mind when you are choosing work to be displayed. FINAL ASSESSMENT OF COMMERCIAL STATUS WILL BE MADE BY THE ACC RULES COMMITTEE.

Deadline for entry is August 17, 2024.
- Acceptance and space allocations will go out by August 24 and space allocations by August 31. If you need to be set up next to a particular artist, please indicate that when you apply. Spaces will be allocated on a first come first served basis. The ACC committee will determine space allocations. We strongly suggest you make housing reservations early due to overnight accommodations locations being limited.
- The show will be closed when all the spaces are sold. An accepted application is a commitment to show. NO REFUNDS WILL BE MADE FOR CANCELLATIONS. Spaces may be shared; however, each exhibitor must pay the entry fee regardless of space sharing. Groups and organizations may not enter. No exhibitor may swap or sell a space to another exhibitor. The ACC reserves the right to reassign your space if you have not checked in by 30 minutes before the show opens on Friday September 20.
- ARTIST PARKING: Artists should park in designated parking only. Parking locations will be marked on a map in the acceptance packet. Artists should offload and then move vehicles to parking on nearby streets. Please place your “exhibitor” CARD on your dash in case we need to find you.
- SET UP AND BREAK DOWN: Artists may begin setting up 2 hours prior to show opening (1 pm). When you arrive, you will need to off-load and move your car to nearby parking, then move your vehicle before completing your setup. Some volunteers will be available to help but be prepared to do it yourself. Volunteers will be on site to help direct you to your space and parking. Exhibitors should be broken down and packed up within 2 hours after the show ends. (7 pm on Saturday). Products and display equipment may not extend beyond the boundary of assigned spaces. No electricity is available; no generators are allowed. Music should not be audible outside an artist’s booth.
- Exhibitors are expected to provide display racks, screens or tables and chairs for his/her/their work. Clifton Forge Main Street has 6 pop up tents that may be rented for the show on a first come first served basis at a cost of $20 each. SEPARATE CHECKS SHOULD BE MADE TO CF Main Street at P.O. Box 631 Clifton Forge, Virginia 24422. Those tents will be in your space, but you will need to set them up and repack them at the end of the show. Volunteers will circulate to help with this if needed. The tents do not have sides, so bring something in the event of rain. Buildings may not be used for display. Please keep your display area as neat as possible. Our local police officers will patrol the exhibit area during the after hours but work left overnight is at your own risk. Music may be played if it is audible only inside your tent.
- Please come prepared for rain or high winds. A gallon jug of water on each tent leg is NOT a sufficient weight to hold down in the event of high winds or weather. BRING REALISTIC WEIGHTS. We are on a town street; spikes may not be used. A map of the area with available parking indicated will be sent with acceptance/space assignment. There is no rain facility or rain date. The show will be held on both days. NO REFUND WILL BE MADE IN THE EVENT OF RAIN.

“Rest” areas for Art Market Participants are available at Alleghany Highlands Arts and Crafts Center, and Clifton Forge School of the Arts (Upper level) both days and the Historic Masonic Theatre (Saturday ONLY-Underground Entrance). Neither the ACC nor Town of Clifton Forge will be responsible for loss or damage to person, properties or works on exhibit. Exhibitors are expected to collect Virginia Sales Tax on all sales made during the show. This tax should be added to the price of the items sold.
By participating and attending this event, you agree to be photographed and/or filmed and give permission to use your likeness in promotional and/or marketing materials.
